I was just reading an article on how stress is a leading cause of obesity and I can really see why based on the elements in my own life lately. While I haven't 'gained' weight, because it is still always on my mind, I haven't lost a pound in the last four months either. The stress levels in our house right now are huge. Another big kill for stress is relationships. Luckily my relationship with my husband is strong and hard to break (considering all the stress our marriages has gone through over the past 25 years our bond has to be made of steel). When it comes to weight though, stress releases hormones in the system that increase desire to eat, and destroy the metabolism all at the same time. They say this current generation is the fattest ever, and considering the stress levels in our fast-paced society it isn't hard to see why.

You're absolutely right. I've written some posts on my blog on how stress has a huge, damaging effect on weight loss for women over 40 (click on my name to read).
thanks for bringing that subject up, it's important and often overlooked.
